MARTINSVILLE, Ill. — October 30, 2026 — Martinsville Community Unit School District #C-3 is proud to announce the 2026 Illinois State Board of Education Summative Designations for its schools.
The district is pleased to recognize the following accomplishments:
Martinsville Elementary School: Received an Exemplary designation, the highest summative designation available.
Martinsville High School: Received a Commendable designation.
Martinsville Junior High School: Received a Developing designation, providing an opportunity to identify areas for growth and strengthen support for students.
Martinsville Elementary School’s Exemplary designation reflects the hard work and commitment of students, teachers, families, and the entire school community.
“We are extremely proud of our students and staff for earning the Exemplary designation,” said Sheri Cooper, Elementary Principal. “This recognition reflects the hard work, perseverance, and commitment demonstrated every day by our students, teachers, and families. While we celebrate this accomplishment, we will continue striving for excellence and creating meaningful learning opportunities for every child.”
The High School’s Commendable designation recognizes continued efforts in academic achievement, student growth, and maintaining a positive learning environment. The junior high’s Developing designation will help guide focused improvement efforts and support continued progress.
“We are proud of the dedication shown by our students and staff across the junior high and high school,” said Todd Evers, Grades 6–12 Principal. “The Commendable designation at the high school is an accomplishment worth celebrating, while the junior high designation gives us a clear opportunity to examine our practices, strengthen instruction, and provide additional support where it is needed. Our commitment to student success remains strong, and we will continue working together to help every student grow.”
“We celebrate the accomplishments of all three schools,” said Superintendent Bob Waggoner. “The Exemplary designation at the elementary school is an outstanding achievement, and the Commendable designation at the high school demonstrates continued success. We will use the junior high designation as an opportunity to evaluate our practices, strengthen support, and help every student reach their potential.”
Illinois summative designations are based on multiple measures of school performance and student success, including academic outcomes, student growth, attendance, graduation rates, and other indicators.
Martinsville CUSD #C-3 extends its appreciation to students, educators, staff, families, and community members for their continued dedication and support. The district remains committed to celebrating success, addressing areas for growth, and providing every student with the opportunity to thrive.
We encourage families to review the full Report Card to learn more about student outcomes and school performance across MCUSD#C3. The Report Card is one of many tools that help us celebrate successes, identify areas for growth, and support continuous improvement for all students.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting the success of our students and schools.
Sincerely,
Mr. Bob Waggoner
