Martinsville School District Veterans Day Program

We were also joined by Danielle Downs from Lake Land College, who shared valuable information about completing the FAFSA and ways to fund college education.
It was a great and informative night for our seniors as they prepare for their final year at MHS!

Students are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items to school during the week. Every single item makes a different – and each item will count as one point toward their class total! The class that collects the most points will win a special prize provided by our amazing PTO!
Items we’re collecting include:
-Soups & canned goods
-Individual pasta meals or mac & cheese cups
-Fruit cups & granola bars
-Oatmeal packets & juice boxes
-Popcorn or healthy individually packaged snacks (Goldfish, crackers, etc.)
Let’s work together, MES families, to show our Bluestreak generosity and big hearts! Your kindness helps keep our Backpack Blessings Program going strong and ensures that every child in our community has something good to eat.
Thank you for helping us make a difference, one can, one box, and one caring heart at a time.

Martinsville Jr./Sr. High School juniors and seniors participated in the 2nd Annual iD Castings Manufacturing Day on October 3rd!
Students had the opportunity to explore the wide range of careers available right here in Martinsville at iD Castings. They learned about the many engineering divisions, robotics, and mold line crews that make up just a small part of the foundry industry.
iD Castings operates a full foundry with two types of casting processes, both optimized within a single location. As stated on their website, “This enables iD Castings to deliver a broad range of castings across multiple industries using manufacturing efficiencies.”
Students even got hands-on experience through a fun activity called “Foundry in a Box”, where they created their own molds!
Thank you to iD Castings for allowing the Bluestreaks an incredible opportunity to explore your facility and learn about careers in manufacturing! 💙

This week, our students will learn about making healthy choices and saying NO to drugs in fun and age-appropriate ways. By starting these conversations early, we’re helping them build the foundation for a bright, successful future! Let’s show our school spirit by joining in on our dress-up days!
Thank you, parents, for helping your child participate and for supporting healthy, positive choices every day!

2025-26 Outlook from Coach Waggoner:
We're a small rural school of only 89 high school students and will have one of the youngest rosters in recent memory. This will be my first year coaching the Lady Bluestreaks and I feel confident this group will improve throughout the season. The Lady Bluestreaks enter the season with 0 seniors, 3 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 5 freshmen. That means every player is building toward something, not just this year but beyond. Despite the youth, the team returns three starters, bringing a foundation of experience to pair with fresh energy. Expectations may be tempered, but the ambition is high. With youth comes both challenge and opportunity. The Lady Bluestreaks’ lack of upperclassmen means they must rely on maturity, quick growth, and cohesion. The three returning starters should provide a stabilizing force for the others to rely on; the sophomores and freshmen bring energy and fresh legs. We will focus on the same principles that I have used in coaching past teams: Steady improvement of effort, execution and defensive intensity with the goal of playing our best basketball in February.

The volleyball team plays in the Regionals this week at Windsor. Good luck girls!
