Mrs. Feliciano’s kindergarten students had a sweet time learning the letter P with the story Paletero Man (Popsicle Man) shared in both English and Spanish!
This lesson was more than just about popsicles. It was about language, culture, and connection. Students explored new words, celebrated diversity, and even made their own fruit popsicles to enjoy!

Four of our Martinsville choir students traveled to Eastern Illinois University for the Youth in Harmony Festival!
They spent the day learning about barbershop-style music, rehearsing with other talented students, and capped it off with an evening concert performance.
It was a fun, inspiring day of music and collaboration. Great job, Bluestreaks!

Tutoring Reminder
As we kick off the week of Parent–Teacher Conferences, Casey Coffee will be set up at Martinsville Elementary tomorrow from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Parents, staff, and community members are all welcome to stop by and grab your favorite drink.
Our 6th graders have been exploring the fascinating world of archaeology! They’ve been learning about the stone tools ancient civilizations used to dig and uncover artifacts and then took their knowledge a step further by creating their own replicas of these tools.
Once their tools were ready, students tried their hands at their very own archaeological digs! Through hands-on learning, they discovered just how much patience, observation, and teamwork go into uncovering pieces of history.
This lesson helps our students make meaningful connections between science, history, and critical thinking showing them that learning isn’t just about reading from a book, it’s about experiencing the past and asking questions about the world around us.
Our young archaeologists definitely dug up some amazing learning this week at MES!

At our last home football game on October 17th versus Oblong, we proudly celebrated our senior athletes for their hard work, leadership, and dedication throughout the season.
Even though the game didn’t end the way we had hoped, we couldn’t be more proud of our seniors and the incredible effort they’ve shown both on and off the field. Thank you for your commitment, teamwork, and Bluestreak pride.

It was a spook-tacular Friday in Mrs. Young’s 1st grade!
These little readers wrapped up their reading unit with a fun Readers Theater performance that had everyone smiling from ear to ear! 🎭
They also had not one, not two, but three special birthdays to celebrate — talk about a party! 🎉🎈They were paws-itively having a blast at their pet show! 🐶🐾
To top it off, they raced into the weekend with a hands-on force and motion experiment in science! 🏎️💨
There’s no slowing down these Bluestreaks — they’re learning, laughing, and loving every minute! ⚡️💙
Our kindergarten students spun into a fun lesson about spiders and their webs, and even had a special sight word activity with Miss Jenn! Meanwhile, our 3rd graders were busy making weather predictions using persimmon seeds — what a creative way to learn about science and nature!

Career Day at Lake Land College!
Our Juniors and Seniors recently visited Lake Land College for Career Day, an annual event held on the first Tuesday of October. Nearly 1,200 high school students from across the region attended to explore future career paths and college opportunities.
Students had the chance to register for over 175 different sessions across a wide variety of fields — from health care and technology to education, agriculture, and more! Each session, lasting either 20 or 50 minutes, allowed students to dive deeper into career areas of interest and learn how to set themselves on a path toward those goals.
Thank you to Lake Land College for hosting such a valuable experience and helping our students take one step closer to their future careers!
