Our first graders had an incredible day learning and laughing with Mrs. Parcel’s high school students at the Lincoln School House! Students got hands-on with history — milking cows, making butter, shelling corn, washing laundry, and even sawing logs! 💪🪵

Our 6th graders had so much fun at the Lincoln School and we just had to share more of the fun! Our students truly got to experience what school was like long ago. We love seeing their smiles and curiosity shine through. What a wonderful way to bring history to life!

A big thank you to Mrs. Parcel and her amazing high school students for hosting such a memorable day at our Lincoln School!
Our 1st and 6th graders enjoyed a wonderful day on the prairie, taking part in old-time lessons, crafts, and activities that brought history to life. Students even dressed in their “Little House on the Prairie” best, making the experience extra special!
What a fun way to learn and celebrate our past while creating new memories together! 💙🤍

STEM Challenge: The Marshmallow Tower!
Our 7th and 8th grade students took on a STEM team-building challenge during Bluestreak Period that tested their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills!
Students participated in the Marshmallow Tower Challenge, a hands-on activity designed to build teamwork and communication.
Here’s how it worked:
Materials: Each team received uncooked spaghetti, masking tape, string, and one marshmallow.
Objective: Build the tallest freestanding structure possible with the marshmallow on top!
Time Limit: 18 minutes to plan, build, and test their designs.
Reflection: Afterward, students discussed what strategies worked best and how communication impacted their success.
This fun and engaging challenge encouraged students to think critically, work collaboratively, and embrace a growth mindset, all while having a great time learning through teamwork!

Career Speaker Spotlight
Students were invited to attend a career presentation during their Bluestreak Period, featuring Jennifer Bishop from the University of Illinois Extension Office.
Jennifer shared her educational journey and encouraged students to pursue their dreams, no matter how big they are. She challenged everyone to embrace the mindset of “Why not me?” and reminded students that if the community needs something, don’t wait on someone else to do it, but instead step up and be a life changer.
Thank you, Jennifer, for inspiring our students to follow their passions, serve others, and make a difference right here in our community! 🌟

New Teacher Tuesday !!

Congratulations 8th grade girls!

This week our 6th graders showed creativity and problem-solving as they completed a basket-making STEM challenge, while our 4th graders took on a rope-building challenge that tested their teamwork and critical thinking skills!
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) challenges like these encourage students to think outside the box, collaborate with others, and learn through hands-on discovery, skills that prepare them to be innovative thinkers in and out of the classroom. 💡💙

Kindergarten has been hard at work! 💙
Our little Bluestreaks have been busy learning all about the letter B — from bulldozers to books and plenty of hands-on fun! They’ve gone on leaf hunts to create science projects, enjoyed nursery rhymes and story time, and even had a special Ag in the Classroom lesson with Miss Kambry. 📚
