Check out the Athletic Events for this week. The HS girls kick off their season on 11/19 when they travel to South Central. There are several teams in our area with very few girls playing, so some games will be shortened JV or Varsity only.

November is National Youth Homeless Awareness Month. Every year, hundreds of thousands of American families become homeless, including more than 4.2 million children.
Children experiencing homelessness:
Are sick four times more often than other children.
They have:
Four times as many respiratory infections.
Twice as many ear infections.
Five times more gastrointestinal problems.
Four times more likely to have asthma.
Go hungry at twice the rate of other children.
Have high rates of obesity due to nutritional deficiencies.
Have three times the rate of emotional and behavioral problems compared to non-homeless children.

McLain Schaefer spoke to MHS students about the LIFT Program that our district is a partner with in Mattoon. They are enrolling for 2nd semester and for the 25-26 school year. Lots of great opportunities for our students!

Tonight we will celebrate these 9 amazing 8th graders at their last regular season home game vs St Joe Olney. Congratulations girls! The Booster Club has provided a cake that will be served after the game in the cafeteria.


It was a great night of junior high basketball. Both the girls and boys teams played at home. The 7th grade teams fell short, but both 8th grade teams picked up wins! Way to play tough Bluestreaks!!











SIP Day tomorrow...12:10/12:15 early dismissal!


The Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 1:00 PM in the HS Gym sponsored by the Booster Club. There will be a catered meal provided. We will honor athletes from football, HS cheer and HS volleyball. Athletes, manager, mascots, coaches and school board members' meals will be paid for. All other guests' meals will be $5.00. Money can be turned into the HS office or Mrs. Lowry by December Monday, December 2nd.


We are hosting the 7th grade girls basketball regionals. Games begin on Saturday, November 16th at 9:00 am.
Martinsville girls play Tri-County at 10:15 am.
