Our 5th graders have been hard at work (and play!) this week! They put their problem-solving skills to the test with an exciting egg drop science challenge and explored math in a big way using a life-sized place value chart right in the classroom.
A special thank you to a sweet student who brought Mrs. Paula and Mrs. Cooper a beautiful picture to display in our office. It brightens up our school just like our students do each day!
And of course, we’ve been soaking up this amazing weather with lots of smiles outdoors. What a great week to be a Bluestreak! 💙

The sunshine has been calling, and our students have been answering with laughter, games, and smiles all around! It’s wonderful to see friendships grow and imaginations come alive while soaking up these gorgeous days outdoors. From running, climbing, and swinging to simply enjoying the fresh air, we’re making the most of every moment together. 💙

Smiles, teamwork, and lots of learning happening all around MES! Our students are busy building skills, supporting one another, and having fun while they grow.
We love seeing their curiosity and excitement shine each day. 💙

What a fantastic start to the year for our MES PTO! Last night’s meeting had the largest crowd of parents in years! Our library was packed with eager moms ready to lend a hand and make a difference for our students.
We are so thankful for the hard work and dedication of our PTO volunteers. This year they’ll be helping support Red Ribbon Week, our Bluestreak Brain Busters Club, and our Fall Reading Night.
Mark your calendars: The next PTO meeting is October 6th at 5:00 PM. We can’t wait to see you there!

Our Junior High Softball team is moving on to the 2nd Round of Regionals!
They’ll take on Mattoon St. John in Sigel on Wednesday, September 10th at 4:30 PM.
Let’s flood the school hallways and stands with Bluestreak pride. Wear your Bluestreak gear on Wednesday to show these ladies and their coaches how much support they have behind them!
Go Bluestreaks! 💙🤍

🥚✨ We kicked off our Golden Awards last week at MES! Each week, our classes compete to see who can shine the brightest by: 🌟 Walking quietly in the hall 🌟 Showing the best manners at lunch 🌟 Being a great friend at recess 🌟 Giving their best effort in PE, Library, and Music 🌟 Keeping the cleanest classroom Our very own Gertie Goose awards one Golden Egg for each area, and those Golden Eggs mean special prizes for the entire class. 🎉 We’re excited to share that the first class to earn 3 Golden Eggs was Mrs. Feliciano’s Kindergarten class! 💙 Gertie Goose was so proud of their teamwork, respect, and GRIT!

Our Kindergarteners dove into the colorful world of Rainbow Fish this week!
Through this beloved story, our little learners explored the importance of sharing, kindness, and friendship. They had fun activities to go along with the book that reminded us all that giving and caring for others makes our classroom shine even brighter!
We’re so proud of how our Kindergarteners are learning big life lessons through books and play

Our students are diving into books, sharing ideas, and discovering new ways to work together. The laughter, focus, and teamwork in our classrooms remind us why learning is so much fun.
We’re so proud of the effort and excitement our Bluestreaks bring each and every day!
