Athletic events for this week

A special message from Mrs. Carpenter:
I wanted to inform you of a Music Booster Meeting on Friday, September 20th at 6:00 PM in the HS Band room. There has been a music booster group in the past, but it unfortunately ended. However, I have some high school parents who are eager to get it started again, and we would like to include the 5th grade Band and their parents as well.
This first meeting will be informative, and we will also be voting on a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary, along with establishing by-laws. I truly hope you can join us to support the band program. I apologize for the short notice! There will be more meetings in the future.
Thank you for helping our music programs grow and thrive in the Martinsville School District!

Susann Shanks and Magan Hills with the Walter Burdick Chapter DAR donated U.S. Constitution books for our 8th graders and Juniors. Thanks to the DAR for providing these to our students!

The Junior High Baseball season came to an end tonight with a loss against Palestine. A big shout out to Bryce Wilhoit for being the only 8th grader. We are proud of all the boys and coaches!

Attention Volleyball Fans:
There will be a Fresh/Soph game tonight at Dieterich starting at 5:00 pm. The JV/Varsity games will follow at 6:00 pm. Hope to see you there!

There will be a 12:10/12:15 dismissal tomorrow for the SIP Day.

EIASE has assigned new Associate Director, Dori Cash, to the Martinsville School District. Dori will serve our schools by providing services for our staff. Yesterday she met with all of the new teachers to provide information regarding special education services.

Two Martinsville 8th graders attended the ILMEA Audition Prep Clinic for District Choir at EIU this week. Thanks to Mrs. Carpenter for allowing them to learn about ILMEA's goals to provide outstanding musical experiences facilitated by licensed music educators.

Join us in honoring our 8 senior volleyball players on 9/20 in between the JV and Varsity games against Mulberry Grove. JV starts at 6:00.

🌟 Attendance matters more than you think! 🌟
Missing just 10% of school (about 18 days) in Kindergarten can hinder reading skills and lead to lower test scores. By 6th grade, absenteeism is linked to higher dropout rates.
Prepare students for long-term success by making sure they are in school every day.

Attention boys in grades 5th - 8th grade

ROE 11 staff performed the Health Life Safety Inspection at MHS yesterday. This annual practice ensures that the building is up to standards in all areas involving safety. As always, the ROE Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent are pleased to report that MHS meets all requirements! Thanks to Maintenance Director, Jeff Dhom, for working so hard on the building's upkeep and on safety management.

Did you know that a student who misses 10 days of school is 25% less likely to enroll in college? 🤯 Regular attendance not only increases chances of graduating but can also lead to a lifetime earning boost of $1 million compared to dropouts! 💰 The great news? Improving attendance can turn academic performance around and ensure you are on track to graduate!

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE FALL FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT: "Bounce, Build, and Bond"!

Please note that this Friday's SIP Day will be the annual Safety Day for students in Pre-k through 6th grade. This annual event allows students to meet local police, fire-fighters, first responders, and prevention experts. There will be a multitude of emergency vehicles at MES all morning presenting positive messages and tips for health and safety.
As a reminder, school will dismiss at 12:10 for bus students and 12:15 for walkers on Friday.
