Jerry Woodfall of IBEW Local 725 spoke with students this week about positions available in the electrical union. He informed students that there is a shortage of electricians and that the pay and benefit packages are very lucrative. Jerry added that local solar farms are hiring electricians right now. Check out the Athletic Events for this week. The HS girls kick off their season on 11/19 when they travel to South Central. There are several teams in our area with very few girls playing, so some games will be shortened JV or Varsity only.

November is National Youth Homeless Awareness Month. Every year, hundreds of thousands of American families become homeless, including more than 4.2 million children.
Children experiencing homelessness:
Are sick four times more often than other children.
They have:
Four times as many respiratory infections.
Twice as many ear infections.
Five times more gastrointestinal problems.
Four times more likely to have asthma.
Go hungry at twice the rate of other children.
Have high rates of obesity due to nutritional deficiencies.
Have three times the rate of emotional and behavioral problems compared to non-homeless children.
