The High School Boys Basketball team competed in games during our Summer League last night. The boys played hard, competed well, and did a great job adjusting to the new IHSA shot clock.

The Bluestreaks ended the night with one win over Chrisman and one loss to Cumberland. We are proud of the effort, growth, and competitiveness shown by the Bluestreaks as they continue to improve this summer.

A big thank you to the seven visiting teams for participating, as well as the parents, fans, shot clock helpers, and clock keepers who helped make the evening run smoothly. It was a great night of basketball and a great opportunity for our athletes to grow and compete.

We are excited to watch this group continue to improve throughout the summer under the leadership of coaches Noah McElravy, Jeff Kinyon, and Joey Parcel.

Catch the Bluestreaks in action again next Monday, June 8th, at home! 🏀

🏐 Martinsville Jr./Sr. High School is excited to announce the hiring of Miss Kaitlyn Stephens as our new Head Varsity Volleyball Coach! 🏐

Coach Stephens brings valuable experience, leadership, and a passion for developing student-athletes to the Bluestreak Volleyball program.

Over the past two years as Assistant High School Volleyball Coach, Coach Stephens led JV competition and helped guide the program to strong success:
• Year 1 JV Record: 15–6
• Year 2 JV Record: 14–6

Coach Stephens also served as Head Junior High Volleyball Coach, where she helped organize and lead a successful 5th–8th grade volleyball program alongside her assistant, Nici. Together, they created additional opportunities for younger athletes by coordinating B games before home contests to increase playing experience and development.

Under her leadership at the junior high level:
• 7th Grade Record: 14–10
• 8th Grade Record: 17–8
• The 8th grade team advanced to the Regional Championship match, battling hard before falling in a competitive three-set match.

Coach Stephens is committed to building a strong volleyball culture focused on skill development, accountability, communication, teamwork, and effort. She emphasizes helping student-athletes grow both individually and as teammates while preparing players for success at the high school level.

Please join us in congratulating Kaitlyn Stephens as she takes over leadership of our Lady Bluestreak Volleyball program. We are excited for the future of Bluestreak Volleyball! 💙🤍

Congratulations to our FINAL Brain Buster winners of the school year! We are so proud of all of our Bluestreaks for the hard work, determination, and GRIT they showed while building their foundational math skills this year! From adding and subtracting to multiplying and dividing, our students have worked so hard to strengthen their math fluency and confidence. Keep those brains sharp this summer by practicing those math facts so you are ready to soar into next school year! We can’t wait to see how much you continue to grow.

From Nurse Kannmacher ~

As May comes to a close, we’re reminded that kindness starts at home. 💙

From helping hands to kind words and meaningful time together, our students have shown what it means to care for the people closest to them.

We are so proud of our Bluestreaks for carrying kindness beyond the classroom and into their homes. ⚡🏡
