Our 3rd graders celebrated Earth Day by giving back to our community!
Students took a walk to the ball diamonds today where they rolled up their sleeves to pick up litter and pull weeds. We love seeing our students take pride in their community while learning the importance of caring for the world around them. Great job, 3rd grade!

Congratulations to our Brain Buster winners!

Our students are showing just how much they’ve learned this year and how ready they are for the next grade level!
We are seeing so much growth, progress, and success across our classrooms, and we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work our students and teachers have put in all year long. Every small step adds up to big accomplishments—and our Bluestreaks are proving that they are ready for what’s next!

Our kindergarteners celebrated Earth Day by taking their learning outdoors and putting it into action!
After learning about ways to care for our planet, they headed outside to help make both the Earth and our school a little better. We love seeing our youngest Bluestreaks learning that even small hands can make a big difference!

Our 2nd graders in Mrs. Smith’s class put their Earth Day learning into action today! After learning about the importance of caring for our planet, students grabbed gloves and bags and helped pick up litter around our school yard and playground.
We are proud of these young leaders for showing that even small acts can make a big difference. Thank you, Mrs. Smith’s class, for helping keep MES beautiful and for being great examples of what it means to care for our community and our Earth!

Today we celebrated and showed appreciation for our one and only MES “Grammie”…Mrs. Paula! 💙 She’s the glue that holds us all together, the bright smile that greets you the moment you walk through our doors, and the fixer of just about everything. From helping students to supporting staff, Mrs. Paula does it all with kindness, patience, and a whole lot of heart. MES is a better place because of her, and we are so thankful for all she does each and every day!

The Martinsville Bluestreaks are proud to unveil a beautiful new mechanical American flag in the high school gym!
A special thank you to Mrs. Parcel for her leadership in securing donations and grant support to make this possible. We are also incredibly grateful to the many community donors whose generosity helped bring this project to life.
This impressive addition comes at a particularly meaningful time, as our nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026. This historic milestone marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence -a powerful reminder of the values of freedom, service, sacrifice, and unity that continue to shape our country today.
Displaying this flag in the Home of the Bluestreaks gives our students a daily visual reminder of the importance of citizenship, respect for those who have served, and pride in our nation’s history as we approach this once-in-a-generation celebration.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make this lasting addition to our high school gym possible!

Save the Date!

Our 5th graders took a step back in time this week and brought the Industrial Revolution to life… Shark Tank style!
Students in Mr. Gard and Mrs. Conzen’s classes researched important inventions like the steam engine, sewing machine, dynamite, and the arc light. They explored how these innovations impacted people and changed the world during that era.
Each team pitched their invention to a panel of “sharks,” using creative presentations that included PowerPoints, posters, and even replicas to try and earn an investment. The sharks had some tough decisions to make!
In the end, congratulations to the Sewing Machine team for earning the top investment! Their strong knowledge of history, eye-catching presentation, and positive teamwork truly stood out. Their encouragement and collaboration made their pitch impossible to resist!
As a reward, they received a special 3D shark from Mr. Gard! 🦈

Come out and see what the FFA students have been growing this semester. Just a heads up; it’s beautiful inside the greenhouse!
Ag students will also be running the cotton candy machine, making fun spring-themed drinks, and operating a bounce house and other fun activities.
We’ll sugar them up but try to wear them out while you shop our annual and perennial selection.
