A note from Principal Higginbotham...
Dear Parents and Guardians:
On Wednesday April 10th, the 7th & 8th grade students will be participating in Community Service cleanup projects around Martinsville. Students will be helping at the Woodlands and the bike trail in the morning and the cemeteries in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity for our students to give back to our community by volunteering. Students are asked to bring a pair of gloves. If you have questions, you can contact the school at 382-4132 or email Mr. Higginbotham at higginbothamp@martinsville.k12.il.us.

Thank you paraprofessionals!

The softball game at Paris scheduled for today (4/2) has been cancelled.

Since school will not be in session on April 8th, there will be no ITI Tutoring service.

This Thursday during homeroom!

Just a reminder we will not be in session on April 8th (the day of the solar eclipse). Student safety is our first priority and with the uncertainty of traffic and potential influx of visitors to our community, we feel that it is necessary for the school buildings to be closed. The calendar will be amended to reflect this as a non attendance day and adjustments will be made accordingly to the final day of attendance in May for students.
We understand the amazing learning opportunities that our students will have during the solar eclipse; therefore, we have created fun learning packets to send home this Friday. Our hope is that students can experience the eclipse first hand at home with safety glasses that will be sent as part of the learning packets.
We do hope that you take advantage of the many activities that the Martinsville Fair Association is planning and we will provide a listing of that in the packet as well.
Thank you for your understanding!

Congratulations to the lucky students drawn today for an IAR prize. We have been anxiously awaiting to see who would be chosen to take home that desired item. Students in third - sixth grade cheered as names were drawn. There was a special moment as a big sister won a bike for her little brother. We love those big Bluestreak hearts! Thank you to PTO for donating money to allow us to purchase the prizes.

American Legion Post # 515 will be having an Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at 1:00 PM at the front gate of the Martinsville Fairgrounds. There will be cash prizes and two bikes given away. Children 12 years old and younger are invited to hunt!

The Lady Bluestreaks improve their record to 3-1 after beating St Elmo 11 to 1. Keep it up girls!
