We had a special visitor at Martinsville Elementary today! Clark County Fair Queen Kami stopped by to share a story with our students. Our Bluestreaks loved the visit and enjoyed spending time listening to a great story from our county royalty!
Meanwhile, Mrs. Manuel's kids were feeling extra lucky while working on Lucky Charm fractions! Students had fun sorting, counting, and turning their cereal into fraction practice while building their math skills. Learning + a little sweetness = a great day in 3rd grade!

Mrs. Skidmore’s second graders have been busy becoming young researchers! Students have been learning all about different animals, exploring interesting facts, habitats, and unique characteristics.
Each student chose their favorite animal, completed a research project, and proudly presented what they learned to their classmates. It was wonderful to see their hard work, creativity, and confidence as they shared their knowledge!
Great job, second graders! Keep up the amazing work!

The Class of 2026 is having an unforgettable senior trip in Florida!
Day 1:
They were excited to arrive in the sunshine and warm weather! The group spent the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios riding favorites like Tower of Terror, building droids, and enjoying many other attractions.
Day 2:
A full day at Magic Kingdom! There were plenty of lines, but it was worth it for awesome rides like TRON Lightcycle Run and Space Mountain.
Day 3:
Today the group toured the incredible Kennedy Space Center where students learned more about NASA and the history of the U.S. space program.
Up Next:
Tomorrow the seniors will explore EPCOT before heading home on Saturday.
What an amazing trip and great memories for the Martinsville Bluestreaks Class of 2026!

The Lady Bluestreaks fought hard but fell short to the Sigel Sharp Shooters last night in the Regional Championship game. Our girls played with heart and gave it everything they had on the court.
Congratulations to #6 Jocelyn Reed for receiving the IESA Good Sportsmanship Pin—a great honor that reflects her character and leadership.
Our student section rocked as well! The energy and support from the crowd made it a great atmosphere for our girls.
We are proud of this team and the effort they showed all season and are already looking forward to watching these girls compete again next season. Go Bluestreaks!

Reminder !

Tiffany Higginbotham took time today to share about her recent trip to the Southwest Region of the United States. She brought along amazing pictures of the Grand Canyon and talked with students about the many incredible things she experienced.
Students learned about landforms, famous landmarks, Native American homes, and the unique geography of the region. It was a great way to bring our social studies learning to life and help students see the world beyond the classroom!
Thank you, Tiffany, for taking the time to share your experiences with our Bluestreaks!

Here are more great pictures of our amazing first graders and their presidential presentations. We are so proud of their hard work and creativity!

We had presidents in the building today! 🇺🇸 Mrs. Young’s first graders stepped into history as they researched and presented reports on past U.S. presidents. From mini Lincolns to little Washingtons, they did an amazing job sharing what they learned with their classmates. Such a fun and educational day in first grade!

From Mrs. Cooper :
Today the fire alarm sounded at Martinsville Elementary School. Our students and staff were safely evacuated for a very short time, and everyone responded quickly while following all safety protocols exactly as they should.
We want to reassure families that there was NOT a fire. The alarm was triggered due to a system malfunction within the alarm system. Our Maintenance Director immediately responded and is currently working with the alarm company to resolve the issue.
We are incredibly proud of our Bluestreaks! The calm, respectful, and responsible way our students and staff handled the situation showed true Bluestreak GRIT in action. Thank you to our staff and students for doing such a great job responding safely.
Make plans to attend the Lincoln Trail Band Festival at Casey-Westfield High School on Thursday, March 12th at 6:00 PM.
Students from Martinsville Jr./Sr. High School will be participating in this special evening of music. This is a FREE event, and everyone is invited to come out and support our students.

Mrs. Manuel’s 3rd graders are egg-cited about their eggs from Ag in the Classroom!
Today students had the chance to candle their eggs to check on their growth and see how the chicks are developing inside. The class loved getting a peek at the progress and learning more about the life cycle along the way.
We can’t wait to see these chicks hatch! What an egg-cellent learning experience for our Bluestreaks! 💙

🎶 Bluestreaks Shine at Solo & Ensemble! 🎶
Three talented Bluestreak musicians recently represented our school at Solo and Ensemble, showcasing their hard work and musical abilities. Preparing for this event takes dedication, with many hours spent practicing and refining their performances. Performing in front of a judge can be nerve-racking, but these students demonstrated confidence, commitment, and excellent musicianship.
We are proud of their willingness to challenge themselves and continue growing as performers!
Results:
Anna-Marie Maxey – 2nd Place, Clarinet Solo
Grace Penrod – 1st Place, Vocal Solo & 2nd Place, Piano Solo
Arias Wofford – 3rd Place, Vocal Solo
Congratulations to these Bluestreaks for representing our school so well! 👏🎶
