More field trip fun from our 1st graders!
Between the big screen and plenty of Monical’s pizza, our students were all smiles and full of excitement (and maybe a little extra pizza too 😄). These are the moments they’ll be talking about for a long time!

First Grade Field Trip fun at the park.

Our 1st graders had an absolutely fantastic day on their field trip to Paris Theater.
They enjoyed a movie, had some delicious Monical’s pizza, and spent time playing and soaking up the sunshine at the park, it doesn’t get much better than that!
A big shoutout to our amazing teachers for planning such a fun and memorable day, and a huge THANK YOU to our wonderful PTO for sponsoring the transportation today and thanks to our chaperones for helping make it all possible. We appreciate you!

🌙What a perfect time to learn about space with astronauts circling the moon!
Mrs. Manuel’s 3rd graders took their learning to the next level with a hands-on (and delicious!) Oreo activity to model the phases of the moon. From full moons to crescents, these students explored lunar phases in the tastiest way possible! 🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕

April 14th is a busy day for the Bluestreaks! Check it out and email Mrs. Lowry at lowrya@martinsville.k12.il.us if you have any questions.

From Nurse Kannmacher:
We are thrilled to congratulate you on becoming a Distinguished Kindness School through the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. This recognition reflects something powerful already alive in your community; a culture where students are learning not only academics, but how to show up for one another with care and courage.
When students feel seen, valued, and respected, something remarkable happens. Connection deepens. Confidence grows. Learning strengthens. Kindness becomes more than a nice idea; it becomes a daily practice. A habit. A way of being that shapes hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds alike.
To celebrate this moment and help carry your momentum forward, we invite you to watch and share our “Norm” video with your school community. It’s a simple, powerful reminder of what’s possible when kindness becomes the standard.
In the weeks and months ahead, you might continue building your culture of kindness in ways that feel authentic to your school:
• Celebrate and share your Distinguished Kindness School certification with your community
• Highlight daily kindness ideas from this year’s RAK calendar
• Invite students to share their own kindness stories and reflections
• Choose a RAKtivity to complete as a classroom or school-wide project
• Encourage families to extend the kindness practice at home
You are part of a growing global movement that believes small actions create lasting change. The kind that ripples outward; from one student, to one classroom, to an entire community.
We are honored to welcome you into the RAKtivist community and excited to see how your school continues to make kindness the norm.
With heartfelt congratulations and gratitude,
Brooke Jones

Important Infomration for parents / guardians about the Martinsville 1st Baptist Church's Early Out Program:

Another fun-filled day at MES!
We celebrated birthdays, soaked up some sunshine, and made the most of a beautiful day of learning and laughter.
Our students love to spend time with Ms. Joy, and Mrs. Gowin's fourth graders got to ask thoughtful questions to the owner of The Mug (who happens to be Miss Gowin's sister) about what it’s like to own and run a business. What a great real-world learning experience!
And of course, a big thank you to The Mug for being here this morning and serving up some delicious drinks for our staff!☕💙 Just another great day to be a Bluestreak!

Nothing beats a sunny kindergarten day at MES! Today was extra special when one of our kindergarten dads, Kyle, stopped by with a Rogator for our students to see up close! Talk about a hands-on learning experience our kids will never forget!
Thank you, Kyle, for taking the time to visit and give our students such a fun and memorable surprise.
