There’s nothing better than happy kids, fresh air, and lots of giggles echoing through our beautiful park in town.

Good Luck to Ezzy Herrera and her Casey-Westfield/Martinsville Track Team as they compete in the state track meet today at Charleston!

Adventure was in full swing at the Woodlands Park! Our first graders had the best time climbing, exploring, running, laughing, and making memories together in the sunshine before the rain rolled in.

Our seniors may be preparing for graduation, but we had three senior boys stop by who just weren’t quite ready to leave grade school behind.
They stopped by MES to play kickball on the playground during lunch with our younger Bluestreaks and even joined in on a fifth grade trivia game! Watching our oldest students laugh, play, and connect with the younger kids was such a special reminder of what makes our school community so great.
No matter how big they get, they will always be our Bluestreaks. 💙

Mrs. Skidmore’s second graders had a colorful time “chalking out” their summer plans today! From vacations and swimming to ice cream and sunshine, our Bluestreaks are dreaming big for summer break.

Our students served up some of the most delicious hand-squeezed homemade lemonade to help get the MES staff ready for the Martinsville Ag Fair!
These students worked hard creating the perfect sweet summertime treat, and they did an amazing job serving staff with big smiles. Big Al’s… you might just have some competition coming your way! 😉
Thank you to our students for brightening our day one cup of lemonade at a time!

Our first graders mixed up the alphabet today to make sure they didn’t miss their special trip to the Woodlands!Instead of waiting for “W Day,” they skipped ahead to beat the rainy weather.
No matter how you mix up the letters, one thing stayed the same… the HUGE smiles, nonstop giggles, and all the fun these Bluestreaks had exploring and playing together!

We wrapped up our Growing Good Character program for the school year with Mrs. Carver! Throughout the year, students were nominated by staff members for going above and beyond expectations, showing GRIT, leading by example, and making MES a positive place to learn and grow.
We are so proud of all of the students who were recognized for their kindness, responsibility, respect, and leadership this year! A special thank you goes to Mrs. Carver for spearheading this wonderful program and helping encourage such positive character traits in our Bluestreak students.

Our first graders are still having a blast counting down the alphabet to the last day of school! Today was “U” Day and students enjoyed a fun change of scenery by working UNDER their desks!
Sometimes the simplest activities create the biggest smiles! These little Bluestreaks thought it was pretty exciting to turn their desks into tiny learning forts for the day. We love seeing learning mixed with laughter and creativity as we wrap up another wonderful school year at MES!

Today, we celebrated our 5th grade D.A.R.E. Graduation at Martinsville Elementary! We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department for investing their time into our students through the D.A.R.E. program this year.
A special thank you goes to Sheriff Brown and Deputy Jeremiah Hanley for not only teaching important lessons about making safe and responsible choices, but also for building positive relationships with our students along the way. Today’s pizza celebration was the perfect way to celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments!
We are proud of our 5th graders for completing the program and for the leadership, respect, and responsibility they continue to show each day. Thank you to our local law enforcement officers for supporting and encouraging our Bluestreaks!

The Villagers proudly performed at the Veterans Dinner in West Union on Thursday, May 14th. Thank you to our students for sharing their talents and helping honor our veterans.

Softball game postponed!

Check out the athletic events for this week!

Our 5th grade students had an incredible day exploring our state capital in Springfield, Illinois! Students toured historic sites and landmarks while learning all about Illinois government and the important role our state capital plays.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to visit the House floor after session. A special thank you goes to Representative Adam Niemerg for helping make the experience extra memorable. Each student received a special certificate from the Capitol to remember their visit.
Of course, no trip to Springfield would be complete without stopping to rub Abraham Lincoln’s nose for a little good luck! Our students had a wonderful day learning, exploring, and making memories together.
